Mutton Nihari Recipe





Ingredients for Mutton Nihari
Mutton 1 kg
2 to 3 tablespoons flour dissolved in 1/4 cup of water
Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
Bay leaves 2
Cardamom 2
Nutmeg Few pinches
Garam masala 2 tablespoons
Ginger garlic paste 2 tablespoons
Chili powder- 2 tsp
Yogurt - 3 tablespoons
cooking oil - 1/2 cup
Spice masala:(roast all of it one by one and make it a powder)
Fennel seeds 2 tbs
Black pepper1tsp
Cumin seed1tsp

Coriander seeds
Cloves 8
Cinnamon stick - 1

For Garnishing
3 Onions fried to brown
6 Green chilies chopped
2Ginger strips sliced
4 tablespoons coriander leaves chopped

Method for Mutton Nihari
Heat oil, add bay leaves and ginger garlic paste add the mutton and fry for 2 to 3 minutes.
Now add red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, yogurt, garam masala and fry until the oil separates.
Add the nutmeg, cardamom, spice masala and 3 cups of water and cook on low heat for 3 to 4 hours.
When meat tenders, add the flour and cook for about 10 minutes.
Garnish with coriander leaves, ginger, onions and green chilies.
Serve mutton nihari with nan.
